The 10 Types of Travel Snobs
How to be a respectful traveler
Travel is meant to be a fun and enriching experience—but it doesn’t always turn out that way.
In fact, over the years, I’ve dealt with smugness and snobbiness when it comes to travel. And in my experience, it usually falls into several distinct categories, which I’ll share below.
Before you get pissed, let me say that, at some point, I’m sure we all exhibit these signs intentionally or unintentionally. It’s part of the evolution that happens as we age, learn, make mistakes, and grow.
I’m not saying that you can’t do what I’m about to share, but the main issue is that a “snob” turns their nose up or looks down upon everyone else.
Do I look down on people who do these things?
No.
(If anything, they look down on me, lolz.)
But I’m sharing these observations so you can see the signs and become a more courteous, more open-minded, and more well-balanced traveler. And they remind me to be more tolerant of other people who have different tastes and expectations.
Bon voyage.
High-End Only
These are the travelers who believe everything must be 5-star. If it’s not the Ritz-Carlton, why bother?
