While I agree there are benefits to the freedom of Medium, I'm not so sure this part is true. For the past year, many top writers I know have been complaining about the utter lack of transparency with the algorithm as well as the quality of content that they're seeing. And while a "young punk" can "compete and out earn" someone who's been writing for years, as I explain in my article, there could be problems about that "young punk's" writing that seem to be rewarded.
