The Simple Way to Achieve All Your Goals in 2023

Hot diggity daffodil, 2022 went by in a hurry.
I'm not one for New Year's resolutions, but with all of 2023 in front of us, it’s nice symbolically to have an empty calendar ahead—there's so much wonder and optimism and a huge opportunity to seize it.
Today, I’ll share a very simple three-step system to help you achieve your goals in this new year. How do I know it works? Because this is a time-tested method that virtually every successful person uses—and every unsuccessful person ignores.

1. Create Your Mission-Critical Goals
Goals are becoming controversial these days, but a lot of that is because people set goals incorrectly.
The point of setting a goal is to achieve it, yes, but it's also to give you direction. For example, if your goal is to become a doctor, the steps to achieve that are a lot different than if your goal is to become an astronaut.
Once you know where you're headed, then you can work backward, outline the steps to achieve your goal, and then walk those steps.
But the key phrase in this section is “mission critical.” That way, you prioritize the goals that are most important in your life—and you don't over-emphasize ones that are merely “nice to have.”
For example, it doesn’t make sense to have a goal of being fluent in German when your financial life is a mess. In that case, one of your mission-critical goals should be to fix your financial situation. Tut mir leid.
I recommend using a strategy attributed to Warren Buffett where you list out 25 goals that you want to achieve and find your top five within that list. If you don't like that method, that's totally fine, but it just underlines the importance of picking just a few goals that will create the biggest positive impact—in the short term and long term – in your life
